Abstract: The teaching-learning processes have evolved, transformed, adapted and took into account the changes in the society. One of the major implications of this is the expanding of the context of a classroom. In present, this is no longer the only place where teaching and learning processes take place. At the same time, there has been an exponential increase in the use of online social networks by learners of all ages. Online social networks allow users to access diverse educational resources and demonstrate their ability to share information in an efficient and flexible way. The objective of this paper is to analyze, from a qualitative perspective, the main educational advantages and disadvantages of the use of discussion groups by university students. The results show that the advantages of using learning instruments offered by online social networks are in line with the didactic and social learning facilities characteristics of OSNs, while the disadvantages refer to the learning and formation facilities characteristics.

Keywords: Facebook, online social networks, learning activities, learning instruments, qualitative approach.

Abstract: We live in an Internet era, with fast travel by train, car or airplane, a time when we want to do as much as possible at work and out of it, but at the same time, we don’t want to neglect our family. Today time seems to be the main culprit for our shortcomings, especially those related to family. Even if we accept the myth that time has shortened, the way we manage it is vital, knowing that we are living our lives at a much faster pace and we are overcharging ourselves. In this paper, we describe a new web application called FamilyTurn, a solution that supports families with children to organise better their time. FamilyTurn has a lot of functionalities that help reduce stress in family life, including finding an available family member to be there for their child, to synchronize the calendar of all members and to add events, etc.

Abstract: The goal of this study is to lead to a better understanding of the Romanian online tourism phenomenon through the analysis of a representative online portal, i.e. amfostacolo.ro. The novelty of this study comes from the introduction of complex analysis pipelines based on method gathered from modern computational research fields including natural language processing, network science and graph databases. The study will reveal valuable knowledge on the social behavior and touristic interests of the portal’s users as well as future directions of research. Furthermore, we show that the effectiveness of our proposed analysis pipelines is supported by the relevance and nature of the results obtained.

Keywords: online tourism, natural language processing, network science, graph database.

Abstract: A difficult but important aspect of e-learning for English language speakers is teaching the Arabic language. The major task for students in this context is analyzing Arabic poetry, which differs in several aspects from the English poetry. Natural Language Processing (NLP) for poetry analysis, and especially, being excellent in finding Arabic poetic characteristics is extremely difficult. Despite the rapid progress in this area in some international languages, the analysis of classical Arabic poetry has not received a sufficient attention due to the difficulty of the Arabic language, and the difficulties of analyzing its poetic theories. In this paper, a new way of finding the characteristics of the classical Arabic poem was introduced. One of the most important characteristics of Arabic poetry is the rhythm which is considered as the crown of this type of poem. The rhyme, which is the end of the musical tone of each verse in a poem, and the types of rhyme are also important features of any poetic art. In this article, we focused on the short vowels (“dammah”, “kasra”, “fatha”, “tanween”, and “shade”), mobile and constant letters which depend on the theory that analyzes the characteristics of the classical Arabic poetry introduced by Al-Khalil bin Ahmed Al Farahidi. An analysis program was written in a Python platform, which analyzes poems and provides the aforementioned features and some statistical measures. The program will be developed for an e-learning platform, and for use in the classification and identification of classical Arabic poems.
